Ltl

There are 2 main streams of LTL (less than truckload) shipping outside of expedited trucking. We classify them as.

Common LTL carrier what this means is that your LTL freight which is typically 1-6 pallets ships with a truck that exclusively ships LTL freight. Your freight will move a number of times from truck to terminal to truck before getting to its final destination. When we book freight through our LTL common carrier service this is managed through our web based portal that has all of the major ltl companies and hundreds of regional ltl trucking company prices all uploaded into our system with our corporate offices discount.

We enter the information of your shipment into the system and we automatically get a number of rates from a number of different trucking companies that will allow us to choose the best carrier to meet your shipping needs. Shipments moved via Common Ltl Carrier would only be for enclosed van trailers.

One truck ltl this type of ltl service can be anything from one pallet to almost a full truck. It would travel on one truck only and would not move from truck to dock to another truck. This type of service will typically allow for quicker delivery to its destination and will involve less handling so that there is less chance of any potential damage. It will almost always be at a bit higher cost than booking via a common ltl carrier. One truck ltl can be with a dry van, or a flatbed trailer.
